Project Portfolio Management

Defintion

A portfolio management approach that aims to organize and optimize projects within a portfolio (or several portfolios) to better meet the organization's objectives. Shuffling projects between portfolios so that they can use common resources, rescheduling and reprioritizing projects, working with senior executives to meet organizational demands - all of this comes under the purview of project portfolio management (PPM).
